My wife is on the Atkins, and was having trouble staying in ketosis. Each day she was taking a number of vitamin tablets capsules etc . Some of these are quite big, yet the( mg active ingredient ) will fit on a pin head. I estimated that her tablet intake was also giving her a tablespoon of concentrated carbs each day.
I have now persuaded her to take just one multi vitamin and mineral tablet , and I have found her ones that are small. She is now in ketosis and staying. I also found that one tablet she was taking was mostly sugar and another was mostly corn flour, It is very difficult to get accurate info about the base contents of these products, and incredible some people believe a large tablet contains more vitamins. Size really doesn’t matter. I heard on radio 5 that new US research is being publicized that indicates excess vitamin intake including C can be carcinogenic
