WHRN Research Profiles

Join Us

Membership in the WHRN is free and open to all. We invite anyone with an interest in women's health to become involved in the Network, including:

  • Institutionally-based researchers from all pillars and disciplines
  • Research trainees and students
  • Community-based researchers
  • Community collaborators — i.e. grassroots initiatives and women's organizations
  • Service providers and directors working in the areas of health promotion, prevention and treatment with an interest in evidence-based practice
  • Policy makers, including local and regional health authority representatives and others interested in evidence-based policy and planning
  • Individuals at large with an interest in women's health research

Why get involved?

Since 2005, the WHRN has offered a wide variety of  events open to all with an interest in women’s health research, including provincial and regional workshops aimed at enabling knowledge exchange and research involvement.

Network members have had exclusive access to:

  • Province-wide knowledge translation, promotion, and networking support
  • Special WHRN seed grants to enable the development of research proposals, grant applications, and collaborative research teams
  • WHRN trainee grants to support Master’s and PhD-level students in their thesis or dissertation research
  • Support for bringing research teams together to develop proposals and work on research projects across distance with the use of new technologies
